28-05-2025 Opaque diamond

In my usual resolution of 1280x1024 pixels, I render this image, the result of several days of work with Lightwave 3D on a Commodore Amiga. This time, I created it on an A500 with PiStorm, but not out of hardware necessity—rather, just to keep my retro platforms in rotation!

The image required three distinct scenes: one for the photo, another for the humanoids, and the last to bring everything together. There is only one spotlight. The small table had already been used in a previous image. The diamonds were created from scratch: one with 12 transparent (opaque) faces, and the other dark with 5 faces (black). Rendering time 12 minutes and 32 seconds.

CONTEXT:
The opaque diamond reflects the small lies that help keep a relationship running smoothly, yet it remains extremely multifaceted. Everything seems perfect, as long as one is careful not to conceal a black diamond—one with only a few sharply defined faces!
